You may associate California with the classic surf film “Endless Summer,” but here in Mammoth Mountain, California we are in the midst of a true Endless Winter. We can honestly say this season at Mammoth has been the best in the country, producing the best spring conditions in decades. When will this endless winter end? We don’t have that answer yet, but we do know that the skiing and riding is all-time right now. Get out there and get your summer shred on with us.

Cali4nia Passes are still on sale – amp up the winter fun with unlimited access to Mammoth Mountain, Bear Mountain, Snow Summit and June Mountain. Buy now and hit the hill with us this weekend.

  • Bobby Brown Top to Bottom at Mammoth Mountain

    by Woolly Mammoth | May 26, 2017

Massive snowfall this winter has left Mammoth Mountain with springtime base depths not seen in years. That provides the Unbound Terrain Park crew with all the raw materials they need to make the biggest, baddest and most unbelievable set of terrain features we've witnessed in a long time.

Professional skier and X Games gold medalist, Bobby Brown, decided to inspect to goods himself, and brought his A-game to demonstrate.

What follows is over 2,000 feet of vertical descent and freestyle wizardry by Bobby, captured on a GoPro in a single take.

There's plenty more to life left in this ski and snowboard season so get up to Mammoth now to enjoy.

    See you on the hill.

  • Top 5 Best Runs in the Springtime

    by Woolly Mammoth | Apr 28, 2017

    Skier in Springtime

Springtime at Mammoth provides some of the most beautiful days the mountain has to offer. There is nothing like lapping your favorite runs under the warm sunshine, and shredding some soft spring slush. With an amazing snowpack and over 600” of snowfall this year, you bet these runs are going to be dishing out some excellent spring skiing/riding. Here is a list of 5 runs to hit this spring.

    Cornice

    1. Cornice Bowl
The best late spring run in the country. Cornice Bowl holds a large amount of snow (especially this season). It excites with a quick steep drop and gives that classic off-the-top feel but in a controlled groomed run. Cornice typically doesn’t get overly sticky due to its elevation and aspect.

    Solitude

    2. Solitude
An intermediate run off High Five Express that softens up mid-morning offers up a consistent pitch.

    Gremlins

    3. Gremlins Gulch/St.Anton
A ton of snow piles at the top in Gremlins. The natural U-shape flowing into St. Anton allows for cruising from side to side, this is a great run for heavily drawn out carves and  turns.

    Paranoids

    4. Paranoid Flats
Steep and soft. The Paranoids offer a few choices for a steep un-groomed line full of proper corn snow off the top of the mountain.

    Mambo

    5. Mambo
This one may sound funny, but Mambo is protected from the wind by trees, gets a great amount of sun all day, and is a perfect corridor for carving. The riders left is full of side hits and berms that you can jump off and slash.

  • Shaun White Air + Style Returns to Los Angeles February 18-19, 2017

    by Woolly Mammoth | Feb 17, 2017

The third-annual Air + Style Los Angeles music festival and Big Air snowboard competition will take place February 18-19, 2017, in Expo Park at the Los Angeles Coliseum. The twoday event in Los Angeles will be the third and final stop of the Air + Style series – Beijing, China was held in November and the Innsbruck, Austria stop will be held February 3-4, 2017. This year, 30 snowboarders have been invited to compete in the Los Angeles stop where the sunny state of California will see snow in downtown L.A. for a consecutive third year. The Big Air ramp will be 135 feet tall, and the riders will jump approximately 72 feet in distance. Snowmaking will begin in Los Angeles on February 15.

“When I brought Air + Style to LA three years ago, it was my hope that we could attract the world’s best snowboarders to be part of something great,” said Olympic gold medalist and Air + Style shareholder, Shaun White. “We’re doing it! Once was cool. The second time was awesome. This third time, we are really starting to establish ourselves as an event. It has surpassed every expectation, and I’m so psyched with the insane names that are invited this year to compete in Los Angeles.” – Shaun White

  • Most Snow in the Country

    by Woolly Mammoth | Jan 10, 2017

They'd been predicted for weeks, then, last week, they arrived; a series of atmospheric rivers with total water content exceeding 20 inches. With a 10-1 water-to-snow ratio that 20 inches of water equates to potentially up to 20 feet of snow impacting the Sierra.

Mammoth Mountain has benefited thus far with 10-15 feet of snow as of 1.11.17 and now boasts more snow than anywhere in the country with a base depth of 120-230" and more on the way in the days ahead (check snow conditions).

We're beyond thrilled to welcome this barrage of white gold to kick off the New Year and as we head into MLK weekend the mountain is looking better than it has in years.

Be sure to take advantage of our latest Quad Pack+ deal - 4 lift tickets for $399 - no blackouts.

    See you on the hill.
